Fire breaks out in kitchen of apartment building in Debrecen

A fire broke out in the kitchen of an apartment in a residential building on Nagy Lajos király Square in Debrecen on Friday, 30 October 2026.

Firefighters from Debrecen were dispatched to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames using a dry powder extinguisher and a water hose.

Following the firefighting operation, crews began carrying out follow-up work. Firefighters are also evacuating and ventilating the building to ensure the safety of residents.

The firefighting operation is being coordinated by the Disaster Management Operations Service of Hajdú-Bihar County.

The incident took place at Nagy Lajos király Square in Debrecen.
