A beggar scratched a car in Debrecen out of revenge
The prosecution has brought charges against a woman who damaged a car in Debrecen after becoming angry when a passer-by refused to give her money.
According to the indictment, the woman was in the car park of a shopping centre in Debrecen on the afternoon of February 10, 2024. She approached a woman who was parking her car and asked her for money, but the driver refused.
The woman became furious. After the driver had parked her vehicle and entered the shopping centre, the accused used her earring to scratch the car’s front and rear right-side doors. She caused HUF 180,000 in damage, which has not been compensated.
The Debrecen District Prosecutor’s Office has charged the woman, who has admitted to the offence, with criminal damage causing minor financial loss.
In its indictment, the prosecution proposed that the Debrecen District Court issue a penal order based on the case documents and, by combining this case with another pending case involving the defendant, impose a suspended prison sentence.
